Room available for a PhD student! We (Barbara, Jesse, and Philipp) are three PhD students at the UMCG and we have an unfurnished room available for long-term rent at 325€/month in our house (Badhuisplein 8, 9726BS) in the shildersbuurt. We are looking for a PhD student who is nice, clean, mature and communicative. You should have at least 2 years remaining in your contract. You need to speak reasonable English, since we ourselves are very multinational (Brazil, Canada, and Germany). Hopefully you like butter, laundry soap, garlic, and honey because we always have these things in the house! We are a bit like a family and we like to do things together to maintain a good atmosphere in the house. The room is located in the second floor and is about 13m2. It is L-shaped and has a built-in wooden shelf (see below diagram); the rest of the furniture shown in the photos can be removed if desired. On the ground floor, there is a shared kitchen and a living/dining room. The first floor has two bedrooms and a common toilet as well as a common utility room which houses the washing machine and a dishwasher. On the second floor, there are two more bedrooms and a large bathroom with a toilet, shower, and a bathtub. The house also has a roof terrace, which only can be accessed through one of the bedrooms. The backyard, where we store our bikes, has a locked entrance, a cozy garden, and a common storage shed. In front of the house is a children’s playground and 100 meters towards the main road is a COOP supermarket. We live in a calm neighborhood close to the main train station, very close to the city center and it is only a 12-minute bike ride to the UMCG.
