Rooster went outside early in the morning to do his business. He took off around the house and was gone 10 to 20 minutes. He came in coughing. He is a stinker for eating things (nerf bullets, baseballs)so I wasnt to concerned. After I came home from work he wasnt looking so good so he went to the vet. He spent the night and had surgery to remove a large amount of chicken bones and a lot of grass. 3 days later he came home, he started to recover from his surgery and wanted to play and seemed more like himself. A week later he had sores on his shoulders (we thought from his neck collar) so we took him back to the vet, shaved his back and found many sores. Several days later we found out it was definitely chemical related because the girl that held him when they shaved his back had a reaction on her arms. At this time we realized all of this was related. The chicken bones and whatever was used was done at the same time. Intentionally? Or because he got in someones garbage?? He is shy until he gets to know you but loves you forever once he knows your alright. He is the sweetest little guy and its so sad to see him hurt and to think it was done intentionally to hurt him breaks my heart. We took him back in last week because his fur/skin started peeling off his back. We had to wash him daily and put some cream on it. Then a few days ago the entire piece fell off exposing his entire burned area. He seemed to be going downhill so we went back to see his vet. They cleaned up his wounds with laser surgery and changed his medications. He is back home with his family resting and waiting for this nightmare to go away!!
