Roots, just watched that ground breaking mini-series. What does it say about our society that something like this would never be produced today? Have we so regressed in the name of political correctness? Oh yes, there is language used that we find repulsive, whipped up a lot of controversy recently in Django Unchained. There are others, from WWII and further back in our history, to when America was first being settled. But by ignoring words used at another time in history, when talking about that history or in an artistic historical context, more then likely will lead us to NOT remember the valuable lessons humanity learns from history and is thus doomed to repeat it. And in my opinion, there is nothing more repulsive then forgetting and allowing history to repeat itself.
