Rose Park was a true melting pot - on our short one block street - TopicsExpress

Rose Park was a true melting pot - on our short one block street we had a first generation Greek family a first generation German family and multiple second generation ethnic families from around the world. We heard many different accents on a daily basis. Around the corner we had two first generation Japanese families and a first generation Dutch family. I feel extremely lucky to have grown up there. At our high school we had a diverse group of Pacific Islanders along side Hispanics, Blacks, Native Americans, Cowboys and Asian refugees. Most people think of SLC as a very homogenous place but Rose Park and the west side was much more diverse than almost any place else in America that I have heard of. I am so happy that I was there at that magical time.
