These are supposed to kill their own children, but there has been no significant studies to prove that they are accomplishing their task of stomping out malaria and dengue. Oxitec has already said a larger trial on Grand Cayman island in 2010 reduced the population of the targeted mosquito by 80 percent for three months. That work has not yet been published. The best thing I could encourage would be to have most of the people around the everglades start raising Purple Martins. Good luck with your GE anopheles mosquitoes. (FYI: anopheles is from the Greek language and means useless and I couldnt have come up with a better name for them myself.)
