Rossview Historical School Community Day Reunion The School - TopicsExpress

Rossview Historical School Community Day Reunion The School original landmark was established in 1890., which was a one room framed building. The second school structure with two rooms and kitchen in 1924 was a Julius Rosenwald School and remodeled to four rooms in 1956. Booker T, Washington and Julius Rosenwald collaborated to provide African American Children in the south with safe purpose-build schools. To our knowledge the South Guthrie Community Center is the only Rosenwald School left of some 22 schools in the county and Montgomery County Government has just recently renovate the building, creating a history of the Rosewald Schools and a public use space with kitchen. This Rosview School building program produced 4,977 schools, and was a major force in rural school design during the first half of the 20th century. Come see former classmates, family and friends.
