Rosyth News:- Via Dunfermline Press A total of 36 new homes could go up at the multi-million pound Hilton Garden City development in Rosyth to cope with unprecedented demand. The Hilton Residential development is set to transform the Camdean area and work is already under way at the site to build 62 homes , four shops and an office, along with an associated road, 112 parking spaces and landscaping. But there could now be 98 homes at the site after Kapital Residental Ltd put in for planning permission for a further 36 houses. The plans form the first stage of ambitious master plan of up to 450 homes, a nursery , professional and financial services, food and drink outlets, a hotel and nursing home at a 12-hectare plot west of Camdean Primary School. Millionaire developer Keith Pulner, of Kapital Assets, is behind the project, which will also bring the first Sainsburys store to West Fife. Mr Punler advised The additional 36 homes is a direct response to overwhelming demand weve been absolutely overwhelmed by the level of enquirers. We had more than 700 applications for the 62 homes and 95 per cent of them were from West Fife. We would only build based on the demand and this has told us that theres a desperate need for affordable homes in Rosyth. Were not under obligation to build these houses now but were responding to market demand. The latest planning application is for further mid-market rent homes, to be delivered in partnership with Fife Council, under the Scottish Governments National Housing Trust initiative. Denice Purdie, of Kapital Residential said, we are delighted that our partners Fife Council and Scottish Futures Trust, have supported this further allocation, and we are optimistic that works can commence early in the new year, subject to receipt of the necessary consents, so that a further 36 families can enjoy their home at Hilton by summer next year. Having worked so closely with the local community, we always knew that there was likely to be strong demand for new homes at Hilton, but we have been taken aback with the extent of interest in the first homes. It is extremely pleasing therefore to know that we are going to be able to deliver a further 36 new homes for local families in early course. However, we realise that even with further allocation, many of our applicants will be disappointed not to be allocated a new home. We are therefore working on further initiatives to try and ensure that as many as possible will still find a new home at Hilton Garden City She added that the first residents are expected to move into the first phase, currently under construction in early 2015, while Sainsburys are expected to start fitting out their new store in the coming months.
