Rough Cuts STL will be showing Vestige Entertainment’s St. Louis-produced film musical, A Song for Sarah. It has been described as a heartwarming family film about an orphaned young girl seeking her remaining family and bonding with them over a shared love of music. A Song for Sarah was shot in 2001 and 2002, produced by Tony Coleman and directed by Philip Keeler. After enduring an indie-film horror story in which the original footage was lost for nearly a decade, the producers finally recovered the film and are ready to show it publicly. Come join us on September 18th at 7:30 p.m. in Young Hall on the campus of Lindenwood University (map). The screening free and open to the public, and the filmmakers will be eager to receive comments and feedback during a post-film Q&A. Several members of the cast and crew expect to be in attendance. In October, we plan to have Daniel Blake Smith join us and show a cut of his forthcoming feature documentary, Impact – After the Crash. We are still seeking additional rough cuts of films to screen this fall. If you have a work-in-progress you would like to share, please contact me. For many local filmmakers, these screenings have been a great opportunity to receive valuable feedback from other filmmakers, film students, and film aficionados.
