Rough notes I am not the man &2 Samuel plus 1&2 kings belong to basilewn the kingdoms there are institutions of power the priestly ministry and the political...then the prophetic.... not all prophets are priests.... not all priests are prophets.. The calling to office makes a distinction ... The church can employ pastors as priests but not prophets for the rebuke both politics and priests. how can u employ a prophet and pay for your rebuke... salaried sermon is for maintenance of temple order yet a prophet is always killed by the church (jerusalem) the politicians and priests plot the death of prophets. Joram delivered from Arameans raiders 1. the Lord will judge His people when they disobey and turn their backs on Him. 2. the word of the true prophets of God always comes to pass. Because the Lord always keeps His word, so too are the words 3. the Lord is faithful. He remembered His promise to David (2 Samuel 7:10-13), and, despite the disobedience of the people and the evil kings who ruled them, the Lord did not bring David’s family to an end 4. God will not allow sin to continue indefinitely....There is discipline which follows disobedience 5. Be careful when you pray the hand of the Lord may be on your enemies...God using them for your correction 6.prophets and Kings could not keep the nation on the path of righteousness. Institutions dont breed righteous people 7. Deuteronomic theology can be summarized in this way. When Israel obeys the covenant God gave to her on Mt. Sinai the nation will enjoy good weather, economic prosperity, and military security or victory. When Israel disobeys the covenant she will experience drought, failing crops (and thus failing economy), and she will be invaded and harassed by foreign nations and armies. the prophets then are more important than kings ..God should be understood as the hero of all Biblical narratives. Israel even won battles without a fight, because of Elisha (2 Kings 6:8-23). The presence of the enemies on the book ..who wage war with the saints the strategy and planning the enemy takes to invade and subdue the saints the abundance of surveillance from the divine window .. the value of the prophet who is connector to the radar ...helps Israel be alert the plot to destroy the prophet..would mean they attack without warning the entire army to kill one man the opening of the eyes of the young man God should be understood as the hero of all Biblical narratives. The prophet admonishes: This is not the way/road This is not the city .... I am not the man Come with me...I will show u what u looking for..?
