Round 12 U16s Wrap vs Werribee Centrals After winning their last 5 games, our 16s went down to Centrals despite the boys battling their hearts out. Final Scores : Caroline Springs 5.7 : 37 - Werribee Centrals 13.11 : 89 The score was definitely not a reflection of the effort put in over the 4 quarters. After battling manfully throughout the game, we just ran out of legs. The opposition, with a bit more polish was able to put the score on the board when it mattered. “The Beast” Matt V continued his sterling season giving his mids first use whilst, “The OEX” Khoa could be found at the bottom of every pack doing what he does best…… “The Stallion” after recovering from injury, was back to his brilliant best and icing his day with 2 sensational running goals. “Lethal” constantly provided a target up forward. We can’t wait until the day he takes one of those trademark grabs and the ball goes “bang” as it bursts hitting that barrel chest of his! Great to see “JB” taking the big grabs with “Barra” and “Reidy” attacking the ball with confidence. “Ice” was proud of his boys. Every week has been an elimination final and they’ve come up trumps time after time. Ravaged by injury, backs against the wall and many a time not getting the rub of the green, they’ve continually willed themselves over the line and kept their season alive. True grit and character they’ve shown throughout the whole season and every week they’ve continued to grow as players and men. Stand tall and be proud of your fighting qualities thus far……….. “Hang Tough” boys, let’s get back on the winners list next week against Newport and continue to shape the competition and show that we’re still a force to be reckoned with.
