Round 23 - Raiders Team Announcement Campese named for Raiders Raiders Captain Terry Campese has been named for this weekend’s match against the Bulldogs and will be assessed later in the week to see if he can take his place in the team after sustaining an eye injury against the Roosters. Raiders lock Shaun Fensom will miss the next 4-6 weeks after undergoing thumb surgery today, with Joel Edwards taking his place at lock for Canberra. This will see Jake Foster come onto the interchange bench for the Raiders, while Reece Robinson has been named 18th man. A devastated Fensom said he was hoping the news would be better and said he’d do everything he could to get back on the field as soon as possible. “I was hoping I could play with the injury and get through the year before having surgery at the end of the season,” Fensom said. “Unfortunately the risk of permanent damage was too great so I have to get it done now. “I’m disappointed but I’m confident the team can perform over the next few weeks and hopefully I get a chance to play again this year.” In other Raiders injury news Tom Learoyd-Lahrs remains confident he can return to the field soon from a long term foot injury and will test himself at training this week. Sam Williams has commenced rehab running on his ankle and will be assessed this week to see if he can make a return to the field. Edrick Lee has returned to squad training from his broken arm, but is still expected to miss another 2-3 weeks.
