Round Up for 10th January Sat 10 Jan, 2015 Birmingham County Youth Quarter Final Walsall Phoenix take a place in the semi-final at the expense of Amanah scoring ten ; four through Barrington, a hat trick from Farrington along with singles from Nixon, Vaughan & Sedgewick, with three in reply for Amanah. Staffs FA Vase Quarter Final After a goal less first half visitors Abbey Hulton opened at Wolstanton through Jonathon Birks. Mark Grice equalised to force extra time. With no further goals penalties were taken to decide the game, Abbey scored five; Josh Graham, Rob Kent, Mark Philcock, Tony Byles & Jonathon Birks. Wolstanton scored three; Mark Grice, Danny Hancock & Mark Holmes but missed the fourth. Leek Cup Rnd 3 Hilton & Uttoxeter remained goal less after 120min of play & needed penalties to decide the game, Stuart Lynne was on target for Hilton with Daniel Brennan & Tommy Smith replying for Uttoxeter. Leek Cup Rnd 4 Lewis Cann scored the only goal of the game for MMU at home to Alsagers Bank to go into the next round. Presidents Trophy Semi Final Mitchell Brown opened for Knypersley at home to Hawkins & Daniel Forrester added a second before Garth Birks pulled a goal back to go into the break. Forrester scored his second after the break to see Knypersley into the final. Visitors Leek opened on 70min at Silverdale through Mark Fox, Jamie Pointon added a second on 80min with a consolation for Silverdale coming in the last minute from Alistair Cope. Division 2 League Cup Quarter Finals Spencer Bird scored a goal in each half for Whittington at home to Stone OA. Paul Fenton replied with a first half goal and Dan Farrelly scored two; one coming in the last five mnutes to secure a place in the semis. After a goal less first half Market Drayton scored through Richard Bagnall & visitors Leek CSOB replied through Sam Chawner forcing extra time. Alistair Grainger & Daniel Viggars added a goal apiece in extra time for Market Drayton to see them into the semi-finals. Division 2 Cup Group 4 Visitors Brereton Social trailed 2 – 1 at the break against Wolverhampton but equalised after the break; Andre James & Connor Potts scoring for the home side. Premier Dan Jones opened on 15min for visitors Eccleshall at Alsager adding a second on 38min. Jones added two more in the second half along with singles from Tom Loraso & sub Lee Ratcliffe without reply from Alsager. Audley opened at home to Cheadle on 4min through Dan Mainwaring, Dave Cooper increased the lead on 22min with Jason Birks pulling a goal back from the spot for the visitors on 43min. Visitors Redgate opened at Brereton on 12 min through Karl Bayley, Shaun Searle added a second on 20min followed on 36min by a second from Bayley. Wayne Glover made it four without reply on 85min. C Franklyn scored the only goal of the game for visitors Newcastle in the second half at Hanley Town. Division 1 Cheadle SMU opened in the first half at home to Ashbourne through Lewis Seymour, Paul Spencer equalised after the break with a winner coming from Jamie Tee for Cheadle. The linesman was taken ill at Featherstone & needed to be taken to hospital forcing the referee to abandon the game at half time. Visitors Milton opened at Keele through Isaac Walsh. Jack Knight equalised after the break and Jamie Barratt scored the winner for Keele. Visitors Stapenhill took the points at Redgate scoring four; two from Sam Taylor a single from Alex Weir & an OG, with three in reply; one each from Scott O’Brien, Tim Bowyer & Steve Barratt. Division 2 North Eastwood & Congleton went into the break level on two goals each ending 5 – 3 in Congleton’s favour. Brad Wilson, Matt Cockfield & Sol Soulmare scored for Eastwood, Aaron Cooke replied with four along with a single from Ash Dilkes for Congleton. Tom Woodcock opened for Betley at home to Alsager in the second half, Jake smith added a second without reply. Florence opened at home to The Longton Area through Joe Sergeant Richard Carr replied, Sergeant added a second after the break with Jordan Longcyzk keeping the score level to share the points. Visitors Knypersley scored four at Tunstall Town without reply; Kieran Garner Knapper scored a hat trick and Callum Oakes added a single. South Visitors Hawkins kept a clean sheet at Cannock making the best of their chances and scoring five; Lewis Thacker scored twice along with singles from Bryn Taylor, Jordan Taylor & Bradley Woolridge. James Crutchley scored twice for Cheadle at home to Real Medina with Dan Boote & new signing Nick Ward adding one each before Real pulled a goal back.
