Round three of the Lions Club Speech Contest, Community Service: What Does it mean and Why Does it Matter? is tonight! Wish Olivia Murillo luck!! Heres a recent letter she wrote about her summer plans... Shes #3309. Together with a group of other top students from California and New York, Ill be traveling to Central America for three weeks in July. I want to become a leader, an inspiration for those around me as a concerned and informed global citizen. What makes different people tick is my particular area of interest and I plan on a career in neuroscience. Any donation toward my trip is completely tax deductible. The website is globalglimpse.org and my student # is 3309. My parents have already chipped in two thirds the cost of the trip, but I am working to raise the last thousand dollars. No donation is too small, and I will be creating a slideshow of my trip upon my return and blogging all about my experiences and would be happy to include you on my list and/or add you as a Facebook friend.
