Roundabout Construction: Check out the video below and read this news from WSDOT on the coming compact roundabouts at Slater Road: Work kicks off next week on three roundabouts near the I-5 Slater Road interchange. This project will impact traffic in the area starting Tuesday, Oct. 14. The compact roundabouts will be installed at the northbound and southbound I-5 on- and off-ramps, as well as at Pacific Highway just east of the interstate. Once construction starts Oct. 14, work should take about two to three weeks to complete. Work is weather-dependent. When the compact roundabouts are in place, they will help smooth traffic flow at the interchanges, particularly at peak hours. BTV 10, the city of Bellingham’s channel, worked with WSDOT to produce a news clip explaining the project.
