Rounders Galore! HI all, just in case you think we’ve just been enjoying the sunshine this way as we’ve been a bit quiet on the reporting front, well we have!! But we have also had loads of Rounders fixtures. The Yr 7’s have been hilarious. One incident of many, was this week when playing Northgate. Lucy Hart was so busy telling me she was bored playing 1st deep, that she didn’t notice the ball whizz by her head, missing her by cms! She still continued to talk as I politely mentioned she might want to collect it and stop the opposition from scoring a rounder! Unbelievably she did! There is a lot of work to be done, but boy do we have fun! We drew against Northgate which was fabulous as both teams have lost all their games (us narrowly, of course) so far! I’m not sure who was more excited, them or me! Just great to see Leanie Elwakil, the Hart girls, Carrie-Ann Mileham and Gabby Lynch doing something really positive! The Yr8’s have had more success, winning 4 out of 5 games so far. They continue to play with enthusiasm and are improving each game as a team. Some great individual performances from Amelia Hodges, Amelia Dorrington, Jasmine Vincent and Emily Jessop. Lovely to see Michaela Rondell, Moira McGuire, and Ella Warren getting ‘stuck in’. They’re mad for it, with 15 girls to choose from! Yr 9’s haven’t been so consistent in their attitude to training. However, Emily Whitaker has been really committed and is one of our strongest players! Georgia Reeves has been outstanding! Megan Lait continues to hit them for six (whoops wrong game). Even without a consistent approach they have been winning games, and working well as a team on the day. Yr 10’s, quite frankly, have been AWESOME! They command the pitch each time. Excellent team work, skilful individual performances, and an brilliant attitude have led to them winning all their games. They beat Iceni convincingly 12 - 23 last night. Emma Jones, Tilly Slater, Vicky Spall, Tia Grauwiler, Leah Walthew, Alice Watts, Chloe Watton, Georgia Butters, Lilly Salisbury, Charlotte Canham, Livvy Boyce and Erren Ampleford have done themselves proud this season, again! Hoping to hear a good result from Northgate’s game tonight. Oh, have just heard we won 9 – 8! Hooooorah!! Over to you Mrs Thompson… Thanks Mrs Topping
