Roundup For Garden And Flower Beds One of Roundup’s best features is that it has virtually no residual effect. That means you can spray it on areas where you want to kill all the weeds in preparation for planting your garden, flower beds, new lawns, etc. Roundup kills not only the weed but also kills the root. I spray Roundup on my growing beds each spring and then pull all the weeds before planting my garden. You can also use Roundup on your flower beds. When spraying your flower beds you need to be very careful to avoid the other plants in your beds. Even though Roundup is designed to kill grasses and broadleaf weeds, it can damage other plants though it does not kill them (i.e. if you spray Roundup on junipers it will turn the needles brown). Sometimes I use a small board between the plant and where I want to spray. I also make sure the spray direction is away from the plants.
