Routley plans to deliver petition to B.C. legislature Nanaimo-North Cowichan MLA Doug Routley will be in the provincial legislature Thursday with a petition from residents opposed to the planned closure of Cedar Community Secondary School. The group behind the petition, Save Cedar Schools, planned a petition drive last night at the Wheatsheaf ball fields in Cedar. The results of the petition drive arrived after press time. However, group spokesman Steve Rae said, "Our goal is to collect a couple of hundred (signatures)." ============ Note: Nearly 500 signatures were collected last night. IF you want your petition signatures to impact the legislature on Thursday, just get them deposited into collection boxes by this evening. (Note also that the petition will be an ONGOING EFFORT and the petition will be circulating throughout the summer ... collect those petition signatures from far and wide!)
