Roxas employee feted for “good deed” By GERRY T. PAGHARION (Photos by: Roxas City Press Bureau) A female employee of the Roxas City Accounting Office assigned at the Barangay Section was yesterday given a Certificate of Commendation by Mayor Angel Alan B. Celino and Accounting head Teresita Bidiones for her “selfless and heroic act of putting the safety and safety of to others before her own when she prevented the worsening of the fire when she unplugged the faulty air-conditioning unit.” The certificate of commendation was issued to Emelyn J. Deanon “in recognition of her meritorious act befitting of a government employee, who ensures the delivery of quality, efficient and sincere public service,” stated Mayor Celino. The Certificate of Recognition was handed to Deanon after yesterday’s ( Nov. 17,2014)flag –raising ceremony in front of City Hall. “I hope the god example you have shown would serve as an inspiration to your fellow government workers, Mayor Celino told Deanon in his short speech. The incident happened early of October 2014 inside the Accounting Office in which Deanon never hesitated to do “heroic act.” The mayor announced the giving of a P10,000 reward to Deanon. Mayor Celino, meanwhile, said Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, who was here last week for a consultant meeting with VIsayas leaders, was happy about what he saw in Roxas City. Secretary Roxas was particularly impressed with the way traffic enforces discharge their duties., according to Mayor Celino.
