Roy Buchanan was a troubled genius. John Lennon used to travel far to see Roys appearances. Roy was a musicians musician, one of those cats that cared more about playing music than making money, or hitting it big. Roy was arrested in 1982, after a drunken altercation, and committed suicide while locked in a cell. He played incredible tones on his Telecaster, and had a passion for music that cannot be questioned. I really dig Roys music, and attitude. He was a badass on guitar, and compromised nothing in his pursuit of expression. Roy Buchanan is mostly unknown to the world. So many excellent musicians are. Im glad he left a body of work behind him.
