Roy Martin 19 hrs . At 5:28 PM (Manila Time) the Sabbath hours began. Well, it’s going to be that one day out of this particular year it will be very interesting on how Sabbathkeepers will treat this time. Not so much in this country, the Philippines, where I live, do I see kids going from door to door, looking for treats, as it is in my former home, the United States. Sadly, saints and sinners, join together in what amounts to as a grave disappointment. How many recognized the dilemma and chose to do something for their kids on Thursday evening? Just couldn’t bear to do it on Friday evening, huh? The point is: if you’re going to do it at all, it wouldn’t have mattered if you did it Friday sunset, and while you’re at it, you might as well attend church services this coming Sunday, for Halloween and Sunday worship all came from the same source, and it certainly wasn’t God! One of the strong emphasis I read from Ezekiel’s pen was the distinction between the clean and unclean. That which is sacred and that which is profane. It’s gotten so the line between has almost been wiped away as we justify those activities because they make us happy as opposed to those which are of God. We see God as this wonderful, arms ever opened to receive us no matter what we’ve done wrong. We often hold up our index finger, in the face of God, with the words, “Wait a minute! I’m coming.” I had been guilty of that many-a-time. I had to learn whenever I was going to put something off, pertaining to God, to stop whatever it was I wanted to do and to do what needed to be done first. Prioritizing is the word. Well, here’s your chance, saint or sinner. Will your finger go up or will your hands come together in humble prayer? Happy Sabbath and… I’ll see you on the other side.
