Roy Ngerng apparently committed a sleigh of hands clumsily, or maybe its just my eyes. When he declared at the return our cpf protest at HLP that the interest earned of 2.5% never gets adjusted according to inflation but the minimum sum is being adjusted upwards according to inflation. What is hidden in the speech he made was.....the 2.5 percentage point is on dynamic mode meaning as your salary gets adjusted according to inflation and other economic influences, the absolute number of that 2.5 percentage point gets adjusted as well. But the minimum sum is an absolute number that was left unadjusted even as your salary goes up by whatever times. There can always be a chance that in relative terms your salary had gone much higher than the minimum sum as required rendering the percentage of increase to the minimum sum being lower than before. I may be wrong cos I failed my maths and I hated numbers. Jason Chua Chin Seng
