Royals story for today. My cousin Mike, who lives in Hawaii, and his partner Drew arrived in town last night and I took them out for BBQ and picking today. We headed over to Joes Kansas City (still hard to get used to).... we pull up in Clementine and there is Billy Butler standing in the parking lot. And James Shields. And some other guys I dont recognize. My iphone is out of camera space, so I cant take a photo. This is the stuff that happens here. The restaurant is packed. Everyone is wearing blue. Not a single person wearing a Marlins hoodie. Anyway, our next stop is in Olathe at Sentimental Journey .... Mike found us some phone books from Topeka (we grew up in a small town south of there) from the late 60s... I got the one from 1972... so funny to look up our family, where we were all living (Earl Lee lived RR 9) and the phone numbers which we remembered. We also found the sombrero you saw me in earlier, always to be known as the rally sombrero, and enjoyed a sonic drink (they dont have sonic there) and some stares from various men who love to rubberneck when I drive by in my 72 Chevy. Tomorrow we are heading to Fleeting Flea late in the day, and Friday were up for an adventure and more picking. Where should we go?
