Rs. 6000 realised as fine during Awantipora market checking PULWAMA, AUGUST 26: To protect the rights of consumers and to ensure standard packs carrying mandatory information about the product, District Legal Metrology department conducted checking of markets at Awantipora of Pulwama district here today. During the market checking Rs. 6000 was recovered as fine from the erring shopkeepers for non displaying mandatory information of the product. Terming the Legal Metrology as front line organization in protecting the rights of the consumers, the Assistant Controller appealed to the general public of the area that they should buy only the standard packs which carry mandatory information’s and in case of any grievance, they should contact the office of the Assistant Controller or Inspector of Legal Metrology located near District Court Complex Pulwama or on phone No. 09596572566.
