Ruari Dalton’s bid for at least a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games ended in defeat to Andrew Maloney in Scotland this afternoon. The Australian earned a unanimous decision over the gutsy Northern Ireland flyweight in Glasgow. Maloney will now meet Scotland’s Reece McFadden, who cause the shock of the tournament so far after eliminating Wales’ AIBA World No. 1 Andrew Selby, in the last-four. Joe Fitzpatrick, Sean Duffy and Sean McGlinchy will be in quarter-final action in Glasgow this evening. 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow Scotland July 25th (Last 32) 51kg Ruairi Dalton (Northern Ireland) beat Chris Katanga (Zambia) 3-0 56kg Michael Conlan (Northern Ireland) beat Matthew Martin (Nauru) 3-0 69kg Stephen Donnelly (Northern Ireland) beat Hassan Asif (Pakistan) TKO1 July 26th (Last 32) 64kg Sean Duffy (Northern Ireland) beat Mohamed Dilshan (Sri Lanka) 3-0 75kg Connor Coyle (Northern Ireland) beat Lungile Dyamdek (Lesotho) 3-0 July 27th (Last 16) 51kg Ruairi Dalton (Northern (Ireland) beat Paul Mwanjwango (Tanzania) 3-0 60kg Joe Fitzpatrick (Northern Ireland) beat Mohlerepe Qhobashean (Lesotho) 2-1 64kg Sean Duffy (Northern Ireland) beat Pius Gaudence (Tanzania) 3-0 81kg Sean McGlinchey (Northern Ireland) beat Cheavan Clarke (Jamaica) 2-1 91kg Steven Ward (Northern Ireland) lost to Warren Baister (England) 1-2 July 28th (Last 16) 49kg Paddy Barnes (Northern Ireland) beat Omar Furahisha (Tanzania) TKO3 W51kg Michaela Walsh (Northern Ireland) beat Thessa Dumas (Mauritus) 3-0 51kg Michael Conlan (Northern Ireland) beat Shiva Tapa (India) 3-0 69kg Stephen Donnelly (Northern (Ireland) beat Oscar Finau (Tonga) 3-0 75kg Connor Coyle (Northern Ireland) beat Denis Thomas (Guyana) 3-0 July 29th (Q/Finals) 51kg Ruairi Dalton (Northern Ireland) lost to Andrew Maloney (Australia) 0-3 60kg Joe Fitzpatrick (Northern Ireland) v Nicholas Okongo (Kenya) 64kg Sean Duffy (Northern (Ireland) v Azmi Khir (Malaysia) 81kg Sean McGlinchy (Northern Ireland) v Elly Ochola (Kenya) July 30th (Q/Finals) 49kg Paddy Barnes (Northern Ireland) v Charles Keama (Papua New Guinea) W51kg Micheala Walsh (Northern Ireland) v Sarah Jay Rae (Jamaica) 56kg Michael Conlan (Northern Ireland) v Nasir Bashir (Uganda) W60kg Alanna Audley-Murphy (Northern Ireland) v Alexis Pritchard (New Zealand) or Valerian Spicer (Dominica) 69kg Stephen Donnelly (Northern Ireland) v Custio Clayton (Canada) 75kg Connor Coyle (Northern Ireland) v Lusizi Siphiwe (South Africa) Northern Ireland Squad 49kg Paddy Barnes (Holy Family) 51kg Michaela Walsh (Holy Family) 52kg Ruairi Dalton (Holy Trinity) 56kg Michael Conlan (St John Bosco) 60kg Joe Fitzpatrick (Immaculata) 60kg Alanna Audley-Murphy (Eastside) 64kg Sean Duffy (Holy Trinity) 69kg Steven Donnelly (All Saints) 75kg Connor Coyle (St Josephs) 81kg Sean McGlinchey (Oakleaf) 91kg Steven Ward (Monkstown) Coaches: John Conlan, Stephen Friel, Eddie Bolger
