Rubeck Declared Winner At Rockford Speedway National SHort Track Championships After Johnson Fails Post Race Inspection Steve Rubeck was declared the winner of the 2014 National Short Track Championship Super Late Model race after original winner Casey Johnsons car failed a post race inspection. Johnson apparently had issues with the carburetor on his car leading speedway officials to disqualify him. Originally Johnson was under the impression that his car would pass when the carburetor would be inspected by Holley, a carburetor manufacturer. As far as Ive been told we have not been disqualified from the 200, said Johnson. Just got off the phone with Dave Deery after visual inspection my rear boosters look high when checked with a Holley hp two barrel gauge. They dont pass because its not an hp carb. Right now they have no numbers or any actual measurements so he said he doesnt know what they are doing. Things changed later in the day when Johnson announced the decision on his Facebook page. I now have gotten the official call, said Johnson. Holley wouldnt inspect the carb for business reasons so its back to Rockfords original ruling we are disqualified. Congrats to Steve Rubeck its always a blast racing with you. See you at the NSTC 2015 to try and regain the title. Steve Rubeck was gracious in his response on Johnsons Facebook page. Like I said before, you were the man Sunday and I tried almost everything to keep you back there, said Rubeck. What ever the infraction was, it wasnt what made it turn and drive off the corner and certainly not intentional ... Damn glad I dont have to arm wrestle for it. Thanks for the info Casey and get some at fest.
