Ruling made on BN Posting Arbitration Last year, Eastern Health introduced a controversial policy requiring a BN for positions above the level of Nurse I that did not traditionally require a BN. An arbitrator has now ruled that the policy does in fact violate the NLNU collective agreement that the union is responsible for enforcing. The award has just been received and is being reviewed. The employer does have the right to seek a review by the courts if they conclude there are legal grounds for doing so. We will be discussing the implications of the award with employers in the near future. When more information is available, we will post it on myNLNU.
