While some mosques overflow with activity and worship, others feel like relics of a bygone era. What is the state of our sacred spaces and why are an increasing number of young Muslims not finding a place within them? In what will be a lively, challenging and honest conversation, the founder of the groundbreaking Ta’leef Collective Ustadh Usama Canon will explore what it means to create new sacred spaces and stay connected to old ones. He will explore his own journey – as a scholar, counsellor, entrepreneur and activist – and share what led him to found Ta’leef and what the experience can teach us about the Islamic institutions that need to emerge in the years and decades to come. Joining us will be poet, educator and artist Baraka Blue, a core member of the Taleef Collective community. Rumis Cave and Radical Middle Way invites you to join us!
