Rumor Has It (2005) Tidbits: This film was supposed to be an actual reunion/sequel, of sorts, of The Graduate (1967). Dustin Hoffman & Anne Bancroft had both signed up to play the real-life versions of their Graduate characters. While in pre-production stages, Anne Bancroft passed away and shortly after, Dustin Hoffman signed off partly due to scheduling conflicts. Quick Rundown: In Rumor Has It, The Graduate is a book/film based on a real-life family in Pasadena, names were changed in the book to conceal the identities of all involved. Sarah Huttinger (Jennifer Aniston) is the grandaughter of the real life Mrs. Robinson (Shirley MacLaine), she is unaware of her familys colorful past. Like the two generations of women before her she falls for Beaux, Benjamin Braddock (Kevin Costner). Going through an identity crisis, she runs away with Beaux, trying to find out who she is, literally & metaphorically. Review: This movie did not do that well among Graduate fans. If not seen as a true sequel, the plot is enough to keep you interested. Its worth watching at least once. Whos In It: Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Costner, Shirley MacLaine, Mark Ruffalo & Mena Suvari. Directed by Rob Reiner. Where To Watch It: Click the link below. (The uploader had to adjust the films quality so it wouldnt be taken down.)
