Run #85 – 4th Sorrento Outpost Run 17 August, 2013 – Nothing, Two Stroke and his wife, Give Me A Stroke The 85th running of the Kamloops Hash House Harriers was the 4th Annual Outpost Hash in Sorrento, at the home of Nothing, a promiscuous hasher who will run anywhere he can. He has officially three home base hash groups: Phuket Thailand, White Rock and Kamloops. Nothing, along with his fellow hashers visiting from Thailand (Two Stroke and Give Me A Stroke) set out an obnoxious trail where fellow hashers were placed at risk from wildlife attack by bears, cougars and wasps. Not to mention the muddy feet endured by many as the hash trail tripped people into the creeks, forced them up muddy banks, across trip hazards like root lined trails and #$#@&* steep inclines. Ram-a-Lot, true to her sheepish name, ran the trail in flip flops. What saved the hares from the toilet seat was the hash halt at the half way mark. Here the hares refreshed the runners with beverages poured from brown bottles and some care was taken to ensure the runners did not lose their way by having hash marking materials ever y two inches apart. This was found favourable by virgin hashers such as Virgin Mo who feared losing the trail, but these frequent markers outstandingly annoyed experienced hashers who knew they had to shout ON ON at each marker. Despite the abundance of markers, the “short trail” marked by the hares was poorly marked, and those seeking a shorter trail ended up lost. Two Stroke had to run back onto the trail, round up the lost hashers and redirect them to the hash halt. Fortunately, Give Me A Stroke had reserved some of the beverage from the brown bottle for the lost. The Hash Circle was managed by Topsy, the RA. As usual, he strutted around the circle in his carefully donned and wildly striped Topsy hat to administer appropriate praise and punishment to Hares and Hashers. The circle was indeed lengthy, as he meted out necessary punishment to violating hashers. A variety of appropriate names were nominated by the circle, but finally and after much deliberation, he was christened: Come from Behind!!! Naturally, this process was carried out slowly and thoroughly as Come from Behind endured his icy seat. The final deed finding favour for the hares was hosting a delicious Asian meal featuring Thai Panang. The Panang was savoured by dusty hashers as they feasted on the view of the Shuswap Lake from Nothing’s patio. Nothing provided camping spaces for malingerers and spoiled them with a hike at Sunnybrae the following morning. On On, Squat.
