Running through the heart of winter darkness, down a forest road, - TopicsExpress

Running through the heart of winter darkness, down a forest road, wind roaring in the Doug firs. Occasionally a snag or other hard surface slices the wind with a shriek. Icy rain pelts my face. Below, the lights of town sparkle up through the storm. Above me, trees stand silhouetted against clouds bottom-lit with light from town. My legs are aching after a dozen miles and several thousand feet of uphill. But running down, the storm enchants and euphoria swashes in my head.
