Runstreak day 2910 yeah pretty awesome eh? Not missing a day running in almost 8 years but imagine having ran for every day for 50 years, not missing a day running since December 20th 1964. . .well thats exactly what my inspiration, hero, idol, running apparel, 3 times Olympian and proud to say friend Dr Ron Hill MBE celebrated today. The very reason why I stumbled from bed at 4:23am set off at 5am destination Manchester, Heaton Park parkrun to be precise to join run and help him celebrate with a 5k. Great craic before during and after with the sprightly 76year old where he received a rapturous reception and plenty media attention and rightly so. Accompanying him along with parkrun founder Paul Sinton-Hewit feeling honoured and privileged to do so chatting every step of the way. Finish line approaching Ron breasted a finishing tape stretched out in his honour recording a time of 29:22 not bad for a chap of his years and feeling the affects of a irritating chest infection. On a personal note 199th parkrun under my belt with 200th to be achieved on Christmas Day but today was not about me apart from the fact that the 250mile round trip to run 3.1miles with The Legend Of The Runstreak Ron Hill was more than worth the effort and is well up there on my list of running highs! #allhailhill #RonRocks #RunEveryDay
