Ruskin College Final Push to Apply 2014-15. Ruskin College will be running two events as a final part of our recruitment programme for the forthcoming academic year 2014/2015. The first will be receiving calls through UCAS clearing on Thursday 14th/Friday 15th August. The second will be an Open Day (with subject Taster sessions) on Friday 15th August from 11am. The Drop-in Open Day will be an opportunity for prospective students to come and see the college and find out about courses which we run. In particular, we have found in recent years that students wanting to undertake a law degree whos A-level results miss their university offers have found our one year Certificate in Higher Education in Law to be a positive alternative to re-taking A-levels, resulting in their subsequently successfully applying to university to study law after their year with us. The college also has degree programmes in English, Creative Writing, Writing for Performance, International Labour and Trade Union Studies, Social Sciences and History.
