Ruskin received the sad news over the weekend that former tutor Bob Purdie passed away on Saturday. Bob was Tutor in Politics between 1988 and 2005. He was also Resident Tutor at Walton Street between 1989 and 2001. Bob studied History at the College between 1974 and 1976 then progressed to Warwick University for his BA and then to Strathclyde University for an MSc and a PhD. He returned to his native Scotland following his retirement but kept in contact with the College and with former students and staff. Bob kept in contact with the college and recently spoke to the Principal by telephone, over the summer period, and discussed the Scottish independence campaign, which he supported passionately. The college would like to pass on our condolences to Bobs family and friends.
