Ruskin tutor interviewed by BBC Radio Oxford about public sector strike action As the FBU announces a series of strikes a Ruskin tutor will be interviewed at 8am on 2nd May to discuss the implications of strike action Ian Manborde (Programme Co-ordinator, MA ILTUS) will be interviewed at 8am on 2nd May BBC Radio Oxford to discuss the background to the on-going wave of public sector strikes in the UK. The programme will feature the announcement on 1st May of the latest wave of strikes by the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) related to significant, detrimental change to their pension schemes. These changes, which are similar to those made to the schemes of other public sector workers, will force an increase in the contributions made by firefighters to the scheme, but lead to a reduction in the value of the scheme to firefighters on their retirement.
