Russell Tribunal finds evidence of incitement to genocide, crimes against humanity in Gaza. The Russell Tribunal, also known as the International War Crimes Tribunal, has reported on Palestine’s Emergency Session in Brussels in regards to evidence of war crimes, crimes against humanity, crimes of murder, extermination and persecution and incitement to genocide. The Tribunal called on Israel to fulfil its obligations under international law. It also called on Palestine to accede to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court to fight for its rights. The Rome Statute established four elementary international crimes - genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and crime of aggression. Furthermore, the Tribunal requested both States, Palestine and Israel, to fully cooperate with the Human Rights Council’s Commission of Inquiry and fully engage mechanisms of international justice.
