Russia Ready to Conduct Joint Naval Exercises with Ukraine The Russian side has not refused to conduct joint exercises titled “Fairway to Peace” with Ukraine’s Navy as part of the military cooperation. This information was furnished by a source in the Black Sea Fleet’s Headquarters. “Ukraine’s refusal to take part in the exercises, which are primarily aimed at training anti-piracy actions at sea, can only arouse regret,” the representative of the Black Sea Fleet’s Headquarters stated. “However, the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s Command has not received an official notification from Ukraine’s Navy about its refusal to participate in the joint exercises,” the source emphasized. It’s worth noting that preparations for the “Fairway to Peace” drills were at their final stage and a planning conference to determine their format was expected to be held before the end of March. According to earlier media reports quoting an official of the Ukrainian Navy’s Command, the Ukrainian Naval Forces would not participate in the joint exercises with the Russian Federation.
