Russian action in Ukraine and Crimea is all because of NATO expansion akin to a cornered Russian bear ( very different from Chinas bullying in the south and east China seas) ever since the break up of the soviet union, and the Fall of the Berlin wall NATO/EU comes rolling across the newly liberated Europe in early 1990s, they started at the Baltic states of Lithuania, Estonia , and Latvia over night becomes a NATO member, then Poland, Romania, Hungary Albania, Slovenia, then comes the break up of Yoguslavia in which US bombers bombed belgrade, the russians just watched and observed, the US even set up an airbase in central Asia Tajikistan they send 500,000 boots in saudi arabia to invade iraq, not once but twice, invaded Aghanistan, using NATO, the Russians just watch with shocked and awe... until US covert intervention cross the 1920 s original Russian Tsarist territory that includes Ukraine, who wants to be free and join NATO, this act awaken the Russian bear who is cornered . as of today Russia is standing down in Ukraine, hoping that thier message was clear this time.
