Ruth Lillian Watkins, 89, of Ordway passed away on June 23, 2014. Born on February 2, 1925 to Walter and Meryl Bishop of Cunningham, Pennsylvania where she was raised and graduated high school. On October 17, 1944 she married Charles H. Watkins also of Pennsylvania. Ruth was a member of the First Christian Church of Manzanola, the VFW women’s auxiliary, a co-owner of a restaurant, a police dispatcher, an Avon Representative, and a housewife. Her hobbies included needle work, the card club, music, and spending time with her family. She was one of the most caring and loving people in the community. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles H. Watkins, and a daughter Pamela R. Lindt. She is survived by sons James Watkins, Randy (Debra Redding) Watkins; daughters Louise Cupp, Sally (Terry) Arndt, Nancy (Neal) Reed. Her sisters Virginia Broyan and Nancy (William) Hargrave, and a brother George (Carol) Bishop. As well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Valley View Cemetery in Ordway, Colorado. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Christina Church in Manzanola, Sangre De Cristo Hospice, or the Crowley County Nursing Center. Eaton Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
