Ruto in PANIC as Cherengany MP endorses Raila for 2017 Ruto in PANIC as Cherengany MP endorses Raila for 2017 Posted in: News|March 18, 2014 Facebook40Twitter2Google+1LinkedIn0 Youthful Cherengany MP Wesley Korir has endorsed ODM leader Raila Odinga for presidency in 2017 saying the former PM lost huge chunks of the Rift Valley and other regions due to Jubilee fear-mongering and insults by a section of the alliance’s leaders in the run up to the 2013 elections. Korir singled out former Cherengany MP Joshua Kuttuny for being among top Jubilee leaders who engaged in politics of insults and name-smearing. He (Korir) would resoundingly thrash Kuttuny at the ballot but Uhuru rescued him from oblivion, appointing him as a special advisor. “I will support you. As you know, I removed the person who moved around the country insulting you (reference to Kuttuny). You are now free,” said the athlete-turned-politician. The rift Valley has been restive in the Jubilee alliance with certain key leaders openly dismissing President Uhuru and Deputy President William Ruto’s government as “full of propaganda”. The face of Kalenjin opposition to Uhuru has increased in recent months with Isaac Rutto being the earliest to bolt out. He was then joined by Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter who has reduced the ‘national noise’ but is said to have been told by his people to ‘rest and watch’ the first approaching hour reckoning. This is said to be causing panic in Ruto’s team. Earlier, Korir had invited the former PM to his home-coming ceremony which was also attended by another outspoken Raila backer – former Kass presenter Joshua Arap Sang’. Sang remains holed up at the ICC over the 2007 post-poll violence which Odinga supporters in the Rift Valley violently took to the streets to defend after Kibaki’s daylight theft (open secret) .
