Ryan Tannehill and Mike Wallace continue to make progress a week into training camp, but the Dolphins’ quarterback and his new receiver are calling for patience, Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post reports. On Saturday Tannehill looked as sharp as he has all camp, hitting Wallace on a pair of deep throws during 1-on-1 drills against cornerback Brent Grimes. After practice Wallace said he and Tannehill “are going to progress every day” but that the chemistry isn’t there yet. “We’ve got a long way to go, man,” Wallace said. “But we have a long time to prepare … we’ll be fine.” Tannehill said he’s “excited about how things are going with Mike” but that throwing to “a speed receiver is going to take a few reps to get 100 percent comfortable just putting the ball in the right spot down field.” Wallace is one of the NFL’s fastest receivers and Tannehill is adjusting. “I’m getting more and more comfortable with him every day not only on the deep ball but all of his routes coming across the field, outbreakers and anything,” Tannehill said.
