Read water/chemical samples to maintain the feed mix like cake thickness. Monitor feed of the sulfur mix. I was also monitoring gauges oil pressure dials on a centrifuge.Monitoring the diagnostics and knowing emergency shutdown procedures.I learned filter pressing by operating press to create buildup pressure to squeeze out excess water to make cake on the line to later be scraped off onto conveyor belt for removal and the sludge shaker unit processing. Backwashing to clean out pipes of any chemicals. Operate pumps to fill mix tanks.Changing out suction pumps from clogs daily at BP Oil. Performed a lot of benzene water extraction,sucking all day during emergency spills on the site. I worked at the BP refinery lake front operations with the benzene extraction sulfur inside the oil refinery with two contractors. The sludge particle shaker unit was Citgo Oil washing the screens out during shaker unit sludge process. I also was a hazardous material handler turning valves in stages pumping by-product to the asphalt Coker yard on dispatch.Monitoring pump pressure rate at Citgo Oil.Read color spectrum. Matched colors for the hazardous chemicals change or about to change depending on temperature,chemical changing characteristics involved. We also measured temperatures with an infrared scanner at BP when we needed to know when the product was inside certain areas regardless of the outside weather but to know the product was at certain temperatures inside tanks pipes. The class in Cleveland, Ohio was very informative challenging too.Read color spectrums instrumentation looking up that color.Read temperature infrared reader to point where hot temperature points were at. Read water chemical samples to keep the feed mix like cake thickness. Monitor feed of the sulfur mix. I learned filter pressing, sludge shaker unit processing the backwashing procedure to clean out the machine pipes of any chemical at Ciigo refinery.
