S. AKAS PRELUDE TO THE NIGERIAN CIVIL WAR I remember watching this great musician live during a naming ceremony of one of the children of late Alhaji Olayiwola Balogun, in Agege, when I was a kid. At that time, the leading Sakara Bands were Aka and Ojindo, both from the ancient city of Abeokuta. Incidentally Yusuf Olatunji who dominated sakara music for years was also from there. When you talk of High-life and Juju, late Adeolu Akinsanya and Commander Obey also from Abeokuta must just be mentioned . Who then says Egba has not contributed immensely to educational, religious and social developments in Nigeria.? EGBA OMO LISABIE GBERE JOO Bi omode ko ba ba itan, o nilati ba aroba; aroba si ni baba itan .Here is S Aka giving us background to the Nigerian Civil War (1967-70). So, the young ones born either during, or after the War would find one or two things to learn herefrom- Joseph Fagbola
