S R Bansal, chairman and managing director of Corporation Bank launched the Banks Corp Excel branch with a provision of Corp Express Banking, a 24x7 e-Lobby at Shivajinagar, Bangalore on Tuesday. With a view to enhancing customer convenience, the branch has been aesthetically designed with layouts demarcated between customer facing and operations work. The branches have been rolled out under Project Sankalp. The 24x7 e-Lobby has self-service automation kiosks. This include cash deposit machine, cheque deposit machine, self-service passbook printer and an ATM. The machines are user-friendly and can be used at ease by customers. Layout of the branch also includes convenient and simplified queue management system and sufficient customer waiting area. Bank has so far opened 16 Corp Excel branches having e-Lobby facility across the country. Overall, the Bank has a wide network of over 9,000 centres across India, including 2,061 branches, 2,599 ATMs and 4,349 branchless banking units. The Bank has surpassed a total business figure of Rs 3.30 lakh crore. As always, keeping customer convenience and customer delight as guiding factors, the Bank has recently introduced a few customer-friendly products to meet the aspirations of GenNext and other segments, Bansal said. This includes e-passbook - the digital passbook facility on mobile phone provided to internet banking registered users; Corp Saral Plus - a simple savings bank account with no minimum balance stipulation; and Corp Signature - a premium savings bank account for the discerning connoisseurs. Bansal said each of these customer friendly initiatives are gaining wide acceptance among the clientele for whom they have been introduced. Source: Times of India
