S/V Ya Sure crew met earlier today with both our grains supplier, Sid from Nashs Organic Produce and a reporter from The Sequim Gazette. Nice strong winds at the beginning of the trip meant an exhilarating 9 kts! Now at 5:30 PST, sailing slowly (5 kts) but steadily south of Bush Point (Freeland, Whidbey Island), spinnaker up and preparing to make a major turn in charting the course for South Whidbey Harbor at Langley. The ship is handling the cargo load gracefully, and crew in good spirits--rain squalls mostly missed them. ETA for docking quite late tonight, 10 PM - midnight. Harbormaster Duncan has already been in generous contact, providing local weather updates and gate codes. Support, too, from a couple Slow Food Whidbey Island members re: further work in slow transport for slow food. :-) Thanks everyone!
