SA Aiyar in his column Swaminomics published in Times of India, 31st August tried to relate Babri Masjid demolition with the returning of 72 Dalits who had once accepted Christianity back to Hindu folds and placing of Shiva Poster inside the church in which they used to worship as an unacceptable act. It’s a fashion in our country especially in so called educated class belonging to communist ideology to cry like an insane whenever any non Hindu who was once a Hindu returns by Shuddhi or Purification Ceremony backs to Hinduism. Foremost point is that the luring of poor Hindus by Semitic sects is considered as fundamental right by them while any resistance or any attempt to bring them back is considered as radical and anti secular act. I want to tell them that the Hindus have full right to defend and bring back the lost brothers if others have right to lure them by any means. How will the author justify the predator mentality of conversion by non Hindus where a poor man devoid of education and health facility is deprived of his religion in wake of Food, Job, Schooling and Medical Treatment? I will like to quote an example from Tamil nadu church. Long back a pastor went to Tamil Nadu in a remote village. He gathered the poor farmers of that village and wished to teach the kids of village. The farmers of the village were very happy to hear. He offered a condition that all villagers have to bring their family on every Sunday for prayer service then only he will teach them. The villagers although uneducated but wise asked him he is here to educate the needy or to convert them as teaching them selflessly is the service to Humanity while his intentions seems more in harvesting souls for the shepherd. The conversion never solves the problem of untouchability as if so than there would not have been separate church, separate pastor, separate burial grounds for dalit Christians in Kerala. The conversion is a step towards creating differences by alienating a person for his society while Shuddhi is a step towards eradication of all such boundaries. Strange is that so called communists never opens their mouth on conversion of poor Hindus but openly condemns heir “Ghar Vapsi”.
