#SA #Corp South Australia soaks Heavy showers in southeastern parts of South Australia have pushed June totals to levels not seen in almost 20 years. Clare collected 35mm of rain overnight, bringing the monthly total to 107.4mm, the highest for June since 1994. Snowtown picked up 37mm in 24 hours, its heaviest rain since December 2010 and heaviest June 24 hour total since at least 1999 when records began. Port Pirie aerodrome received 39.6mm to 9am today, its heaviest 24 hour total since December 2010. This large fall has lifted the June total to 123mm making it the largest monthly total since at least 2007. Ceduna had 6mm fall in just 10 mins at 6:20pm last night and 13.2mm fall to 9am today. This drenching makes it the heaviest June total since 2005. Likewise, Eudunda has received at least 70mm so far this month, making it the wettest June since 2005. A low pressure system and an associated trough were the cause of the heavy falls. However, showers will have mostly cleared by tomorrow as the trough and low weaken. A high pressure ridge will build over the region, clearing skies and keeping the southeast of SA mostly dry until Tuesday. An approaching cold front may bring a few showers to coastal areas on Wednesday and Thursday.
