SA FACEBOOK HOOK UP BREAKS UP COUPLE Social media has been known to come under fire for breaking marriages and relationships. A study conducted in the UK earlier this year indicated that people who use social media are actually 32% more likely to think about leaving their spouses than those who dont. Last week a Mogoditshane couple Kabo Mogotsi and Wame Letsholo had their relationship become a statistic after the court ordered them to break up because of an affair that the man started on Facebook. Putting an end to a fight between Mogotsis live-in girlfriend, Letsholo and his facebook hook up from South Africa, Slindonkuhle Mguni, Kgosi Tswina Mochudi of Mogoditshane ordered the older girlfriend to leave the new love birds in peace and move back to her house. Trouble ensued when the 21- year old Mguni who met Mogotsi on Facebbok came to visit his new boyfriend only to find him living with Letsholo, 32. A statement that the new Facebook flame submitted to the police on November 8, 2014 claims she was attacked by the older woman at 2am in her mans house. “While we were still in the middle of a heated argument she grabbed my bag which still had my clothes and R500 in it and bolted” the satement further said. Letsholo pleaded guilty to the accusations of theft and agreed to pay back the alleged R500 although outside court she was adamant that she took the bag out of anger and that there was no money in it. “ I didn’t steal that bag, I just took it while she watched so that she wouldn’t leave the country until we had sorted out our differences and it had no money in it but its OK ill give her R500 and leave her alone.” She said. “Its over . All I have to do now is to collect my curtains and household items, like the microwave and towels and leave his house.” She explained in an interview outside the court. Meanwhile the man at the centre of the love triangle said he was happy to let his older girlfriend whom he owes P5000 go. “She can go get her stuff from my house immediately and Ill be paying her back her money in installments of P500 a month” said the cheating DJ boyfriend.
