************** We, members of a Facebook forum consisting mainly of Registered Master Electricians (RME), vehemently opposed the particular proposed provision embodied in House Bill 4325 that would eventually move and/or transfer the regulating body of these practitioners (RMEs) from PRC to TESDA for the following reasons, as follows; 1. This could jeopardize the present job employment of those holding these licenses as PRC issued licenses are the preferred choices of most employment agencies here and abroad. We do not intend to disrespect TESDA. We simply states that certificates issued by TESDA and for the most part, was not, is not, and probably in the near future, will STILL not be acceptable on MOST hiring agencies, specifically on the maritime, mining, and other related industries here and abroad. 2. This would marginalized a portion of those unlicensed practitioners who had been in the industry for quite some time and who aim to have said license available to them as they were not so fortunate enough to get a full degree of college education due to financial encumbrances. Instead of closing the door for these marginalized portion of society, a good law should even promote their well-being by way of offering opportunities for them to grow and enhance their contributions to nation building. Opening the door to these practitioners will prevent them from sliding further down on their precarious financial state that could lead them to being liabilities. Instead, they can be helped to become an asset of their family, the society, and the nation as well. 3. We consider ourselves professionals as we demonstrated time and again that we, with hard work and perseverance, could compete with everybody else on our fields of choice - otherwise, we would not have been here in these professions. We might be holders of a lower license but we belong to the same breed of workers like the Master Plumbers and Midwives, and whose licenses are still regulated by this constitutional body - the PROFESSIONAL REGULATION COMMISSION. Removing the RME from PRC would tantamount to their being deprived of their basic rights - as guaranteed, insured, and enshrined in the Constitutions. 4. Lastly, here is from the net. The Professional Regulation Commission is responsible for the administration, implementation and enforcement of regulatory policies on the regulation and licensing of various professions and occupations under its jurisdiction. It is the instrument of the Filipino people in securing for the nation a reliable, trustworthy, and progressive system of developing professionals whose personal integrity and spiritual values are solid and respected, whose competencies are globally competitive, and whose commitment to serve the Filipino nation and the whole community is strong and steadfast. Now, we RMEs believe that this mission can not be achieved if we will be dis-enfranchised in the process? Hence our strong objection to that particular proposal is hereby posted. Thinking on the contrary is wishful thinking really. We respect and will continue to respect those who happened to be above us in terms of educations, positions, or whatever it may be. But we would also expect superiors to treat their subordinates that they (superiors) may be worthy of their (subordinates) respects and admirations. Respectfully yours (Signed) Mga names at Licensed number ng mga tutulong sa laban natin ..
