I just read a piece saying that rape was not more common in India than in other countries, just more written about. I dont know the statistics, but I have been following this group STOP ACID ATTACKS for a long time, and I can assure you that the culprits are not all getting punished, and even those who are get off too lightly. And the victims are not compensated and are shunned. I am not saying this means all crime in India is worse than other countries. In the US, white collar criminals defraud innocent people and then get off because they have good lawyers and lots of money. But two wrongs dont make a right. #AcidAttacks occur regularly in India, and I am glad these people are trying to change that. Their current campaign is an effort to get people to acknowledge the problem - you cant fix a problem till you admit there is one. #StopAcidAttacks
