SABYASACHI PANDA: BJDs AGENT OR SCAPEGOAT Sabyasachi Panda had left gun two years back. So it’s not a credit for the Odisha government in arresting him. One day or the other, he would have definitely surrendered. But less people know the real Maoist in Sabyasachi. From 2008, he was acting as an agent to the ruling party. 1. When BJD wanted to break alliance with BJP, Navin had no actual reasons for the split. At that time, Swami Laxmananda was murdered by Sabyasachi Panda. BJP reacted heavily to this brutal incident. But the stand of BJD at that time was not praise-worthy. Thus communal reasons went for BJP-BJD split. As Navin wanted, the alliance broke. 2. During 2011 assembly session, Dal corruption went in full force. Four Collectors and Minister Pramila Mallick were blamed for this mass corruption. This news was going in the front pages of every newspaper and telecasted repeatedly in television. Navin’s clean image was under threat. Just at that time, a drama came to scene. Former Collector of Malkangiri R. Vinil Krishna was kidnapped by Sabysachi Panda. Dal corruption was forgotten and even media gave no emphasis to it. Vinil Krishna’s kidnap caught all news. Thus an attempt to tarnish Navin’s clean image by the dirt of Dal corruption was vanished. 3. Similarly during 2012 assembly session, Mines scam was the issue of the hour. Navin government was also a part of this mass corruption. Opposition was thundering against Navin. But at that time Sabyasachi kidnapped two Italian tourists, Claudio and Paulo. The sensitive issue of Mines Scam was darkened by the kidnap of foreign tourists, thereby making it a National Issue. So the attention on Navin in this mass Mines Scam was wiped away. Thus Navin smelled fresh air once again. 4. 2014’s first assembly session is fired by issues like Minister Sanjay Das Burma’s illegal buildings, Druti Chand issue, vote calculation tamnpering and even illegal liquor supply. Navin was going to face this mud. Once again Sabyasachi became Navin’s scapegoat. Sabyasachi’s arrest will now be the headlines in every media even after the assembly session will finish. So Navin won’t have to face the opposition storm for a few more days and have a peaceful sleep.
